ORTIGAS CENTER, PASIG CITY - Orthopaedic International, Inc's (OII) annual Thanksgiving Dinner was held last November 12, 2019 at Richmonde Hotel Ortigas, Pasig City. It was attended by Orthopedic surgeons from different regions of the country.

Orthopedic doctors from different parts of the country are present during the OII Thanksgiving Dinner. The doctors had a chance to socialize even before the program started.

The program started with an opening remarks from the OII's President, Mr. Jude Sasing where he mentioned the new product of OII which is the Axis-e Instrumentation. It features enhanced instrumentation for the Axis Knee System that will help simplify the total knee arthroplasty. The product will be available by February 2020.

The Opening Remarks was followed by a presentation from Dr. Rupesh Man Sherchan entitled, 'Clinical Evaluation of the Mechanical Axis Finder (MAF) by Radiologic Scanogram of 100 consecutive Axis Total Knee Replacement' and followed by a presentation by Dr. Ilustre I. Guloy, Jr.'s 'Points for Improving Total Knee Replacement (TKR) Surgery'. The attendees participated during the discussion by sharing also some of their tips and experiences on TKR using the Axis Knee System.

Guests were serenaded by Symphony Rhythm Strings during dinner time. After the dinner and discussion  the first Gustilo Case Report Challenge was held, it is a case report challenge where Dr. Ramon B. Gustilo, a world renowned orthopedic surgeon and OII's Chairman will choose the most difficult and interesting case of Axis Knee System presented during the event. Doctors namely Dr. Lorde Hermida, Dr. Kim Jingco and Dra. Gladys Tan joined the contest.

OII launched also their new hip system from AK Medical, the AK-ML Hip System. Mr. Totti Wang, the Overseas Sales Director of AK Medical, gave a short presentation about the AK Medical's company and its products. The AK-ML Hip System will be distributed by OII Medical Devices, Inc. - OII's official distributor, and to officially end the event, closing remarks was given by Dr. Ramon B. Gustilo. He thanked everyone who attended and participated during the event leaving them a message, "(nonverbatim) Thank you all for coming and for participating. A reminder for everyone to always follow up your patients. Another way to maintain the relationship with them is to greet them with a 'Happy Birthday' card. You can do it by e-mail or regular mail every year during their birthdays."
