VIGAN, ILOCOS SUR – The 29th POA Midyear Convention was held last April 24-26, 2019 atthe Vigan City Convention Center. The theme for this year was "Debugging the Bug:Discussions on Fracture Related Infections." Orthopaedic surgeons all over the country wereinvited and present.

As part of Orthopaedic International, Inc.'s (OII) booth, a Book Signing with Dr. Ramon B.Gustilo was also held. His book was entitled "The Art Of Private Practice Of Medicine".According to Dr. Gustilo, "The Industrialization of Medicine results in the absence of careful history taking and physical examination leading to diagnosis before ordering any laboratory and expensive diagnostic tests. I hope that this book will rekindle again the art of privatepractice and the basic physical examination and diagnosis- leading to appropriate use ofdiagnostic tests." Dr. Gustilo is a world-renowned orthopaedic surgeon and is OII's Chairman.
